The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag at 7 pm.
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the agenda. Carried
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve the August minutes. Carried
SSESA reported 15 runs in the township in July totaling 140 for the year.
DDA: approved looking at extending the time period and the area of the district.
Comm. Pavlica: The County approved the secondary road patrol grant. There is a 6-month moratorium for medical marihuana for the 14 townships that the county does their zoning. There is a Midwest Trail Authority meeting (Ionia & Shiawassee counties). Fred Meijers Foundation donated over $3 million for all trails in Michigan.
P. Michalek moved, second by Hammond to approve the financial statement and pay the bills. Ayes: Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, & Parmalee.
SEDP is having a meeting for interested parties & developers to see sites and empty building in the County.
Recycling committee will meet Sept. 9th at 7 pm with a Granger representative.
Hammond reported there have been 2 contacts for land for a park.
Ruess Rd. trees have been removed.
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to concur with the Planning Commission and rezone the lots, 1 – 7 in Forest Green, from Commercial to Residential. Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, & Grinnell.
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to reappoint Chris Price to the Planning Commission. Carried. The Clerk will advertise for another person to fill a vacancy on the Planning Comm.
Audit: Parmalee presented the audit that was performed by Demis & Wenzlick stating that Perry Township is sound financially & in very good shape. S. Michalek moved, second by Parmalee to accept the audit and send to the state. Ayes: P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond. Carried
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to designate all monies in the road fund must be spent on roads. Ayes: S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek. Carried
Cemetery: Discussion on disinterment of cremains & bodies. Attorney will put wording together for the applications with additions that a licensed funeral director and sexton must be present and must have board approval for removal of such. New cemetery ordinance booklets were distributed to the board.
Work is being done on Alling Drain. Our At Large drain assessment this year is $9,785.72.
