Sheriff Braidwood was present to discuss complaints in the township over the last 6 months. Shiawassee Co. Sheriff’s Dept. responded to 365 calls; Mich. State Police, 124 calls; Perry City, 112 calls, & Morrice Village, 15 calls. This excluded traffic stops.
Dep. Schmidt reported 195 complaints in Perry Township last month. 72 were traffic
stops and there were 12 car/deer incidents.
SSESA had 15 runs in Sept. making the yearly total 178 runs.
Comm. Pavlica stated the County has a lot of pride in the Sheriff’s Dept. The Health Dept. received accreditation status by the State of Mich. with a high score. The Veteran’s millage was set at 1/20 mill. Midwest Rail to Trail has received donations. There are 3 more trails in Ionia Co. that have been awarded money by the Meijer’s Foundation for maintenance. There are over 100 miles of trails now. They are putting new windows in the south side of the Courthouse. There were 76 applicants for the SCOA Ex. Director position. Decision will be made Nov. 8th. SCOA & Morrice are working on an agreement for the sale of the Morrice Senior Center. The County budget should be in place in Dec.
Zoning: Permits for 1 new house and 1 deck.

The State Tax Commission approved the results of the 14-point assessing mini review. Perry Township received 95 out of 100 thanks to Assessor Steve Schweikert.
Beth Wehman, Independent correspondent, is moving to Durand, but may continue to cover our meetings.
Recycling: Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the contract with the changes made by the Village of Morrice and City of Perry for a trial period of 6 months.
Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, & Grinnell. Carried. The bins will be delivered tomorrow. There is an $85 delivery fee and a cost of $200 for emptying bins. Clerk will check with insurance company concerning the Granger contract.
Allen Davisson, owner of Mid-Michigan Auto Wholesalers, was present to request a used car dealer’s license for this property. Only paper work will be done on this site. No used cars on the property. The County has approved the license and the township Planning Commission has recommended approval of the license. Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to concur with the Planning Commission and recommend to the County approval of the used car dealer’s license for Allen Davisson. Ayes: P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, & Hammond.
Attorney Smith commented on removing cremains from the Cemetery. There are no requirements from the Health Dept. He had copies of the application for disinterment of human cremains. Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to approve the application & affidavit for disinterment of human cremains. Ayes: S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond, & P. Michalek. Parmalee moved, second by S. Michalek to approve the applications and set the disinterment fee at 1 1/2 the normal burial fee plus costs of a normal burial fee to reinter. Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the motion presented by the DDA Board to extend the present T.I.F.A. and DDA properties for 1 year from Dec. 31, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2011 so they can continue plans that are not complete which includes the Lansing Rd. lighting project. Ayes: Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee
The Dec. Board of Review will be at 8 am on Dec. 14 to correct any mistakes only.
The At Large Drain costs for the year are $10,431.13. McCrae Drain assessment is for seven years.
P. Michalek moved, second by S. Michalek to purchase the Apex drawing program update for the assessor at a cost of $545 including supplies. Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, & Grinnell
The Nov. 2nd general election had 1423 out of the 3010 registered voters turn out to cast their ballots.
McGraw announced the Hometown Country Christmas Lighted Parade would take place Dec. 11th at 7 pm
