PERRY TOWNSHIP BOARD SPECIAL MEETING
Present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor; Sue Hammond, Trustee; Troy Parmalee, Trustee; Sandra Michalek, Clerk. Absent: Peggy Michalek
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss purchasing millings from the Old Lansing Rd. project for the Roselawn Cemetery. Rieth-Riley is doing the construction and Troy had talked to the Contractor and we were given two bids, but we needed to act on them immediately. The bids were: (option #1) $9,500 for 950 ton at $10 a ton and (option #2) $23,750 for millings and placement, which is $25 a ton for 950 tons. This would be grading the cemetery roads, laying down millings, and rolling the roads. We would have to be careful the first year with the snowplowing.
The Road Commission thought the price was good. They pay $25 a ton for limestone being placed.
Troy said we have $7,000 for the DeLau payment and we had budgeted $5,000 for gravel. We could take the rest from the Township Improvement Fund or another Twp. fund.
Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to approve option 2 for $23,750. Roll call: Grinnell, Hammond, Michalek, & Parmalee, ayes. Carried
The Clerk will notify the Sexton and Watkins Funeral Homes of our plans.
Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to adjourn. Carried
Sandra Michalek, Clerk
