PERRY TOWNSHIP BOARD REGULAR MEETING

 

Present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor; Sandra Michalek, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Sue Hammond & Peggy Michalek, Trustees
Guests: Dep. Mark Schmidt; Fire Chief Guy Hubbard

The Supervisor opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.  All board was present.
S. Michalek moved, second by Parmalee to approve the agenda.  Carried
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the April minutes.  Carried

Chief Hubbard had to leave because of a run, but the SSESA report had 15 runs in Perry Township last months and 44 runs this year so far.  Total runs for SSESA was 323.

Dep. Schmidt reported 189 calls to the township and 99 were traffic stops.

There was a house addition and 2 trailer permits in the zoning folder.

S. Michalek moved, second by Grinnell to approve the financial statement and pay the bills.  Roll call, Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, and Parmalee, all ayes.

Recycling:  A cardboard bin has been added at the Transfer station.  Hammond discussed how to prepare the cardboard for recycling.

Cemetery foundations prices will be raised and special burials will be added to cemetery prices and presented next meeting.

Budget amendment:  P. Michalek moved, second by Hammond to decrease the foundation line in the 2010-2011 budget to $1,150 and increase the opening balance to $107,960.  Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, & Grinnell.  Carried

Sewer rates: Discussed to revise our ordinance.  Everyone would pay a minimum of 1 unit.  One unit for 10 employees and over 10 employees would be 2 units.  We would use the same rate schedule as Perry City only add the convention center (1 unit per 2,500).  Troy will discuss with Attorney Smith.

The Road Commission is using the same seal coat we chose.

P. Michalek moved, second by S. Michalek to raise the deputy’s wages by 50 cents per hour as of May 1st.  Ayes: P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, & Hammond.  Carried

Parmalee moved, second by S. Michalek to adjourn.  Carried
