PERRY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

Present: PL. Comm.: Patsy Force, Walt Saxton, Joe Ocenasek, Larry Place, & Sandra Michalek.  DDA: Joe Audia, Brian Pfeifle, Adam Elsesser, Sidney Grinnell.

Doug Piggott, Rowe Engineering was asked by the DDA to explain the time line of extending the TIFA & boundaries of the DDA.  In order to have the changes in place by the end of the year, deadlines have to be met immediately.  The first step is to meet with County officials to see if they are in agreement with the plans.  The township board has to adopt the resolution of intent at the July meeting.  The DDA members were in favor of the expansion. 7-10 years was the extension of the TIFA.

Saxton called the Planning Commission to order.  Absent was Scott Smith & Chris Price.

Ocenasek moved, second by Place to approve the agenda.  Carried

Place moved, second by Force to approve the March 17, 2011 minutes.  Carried

For the meeting next week with the County officials on the DDA, Walt Saxton & Joe Ocenasek with represent the Planning Commission.
Michalek reported there has been recent roadwork done at Roselawn Cemetery and are in the process of putting the cemetery information on the computer.  Two trees were removed due to damage by the recent tornado.
Ocenasek moved, second by Michalek to approve the DDA extending the TIFA and enlarging the boundaries. Roll call: ayes, Place, Ocenasek, Force, Michalek, Saxton.  Carried

Ocenasek moved, second by Place to keep the same officers for next year as we have now.  That would be Saxton as Chairman; Price as Vice-Chairman; & Michalek as Secretary.  Carried

We do not have the current census for Michigan so no work was done on the land use plan update.

Shiswassee County informed us of a home occupation permit that was given to Margaret Endsley of 12415 S. Morrice Rd., Morrice for a home business.  She will be selling jewelry and leather goods and have a 2’ freestanding ground sign.  No input was needed by either the Planning Commission or the Township Board.

There is a June 29th meeting of the County Planning Commission in Corunna on text amendments.

Place moved, second by Michalek to adjourn.  Carried
