Perry Township Regular Meeting
Board present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor; Sandra Michalek, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Susan Hammond & Peggy Michalek, Trustees

All board members were present at roll call after the pledge to the flag.
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the agenda. Carried
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve May minutes with correction that Quick Books program was paid up front. Carried
Public comments: Both Nover & Feuka were in favor of recycling program and asked that curbside pick up not be overlooked.
SSESA had 21 runs last month and a total of 85 this year. SSESA’s total yearly runs are 577.
The Sheriff’s report consisted of 192 incidents in the township and 81 were traffic stops.
P. Michalek moved, second by Hammond to approve the financial statement and pay the bills. Ayes: Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, & Parmalee.
Recycling: The board discussed concerns sent to us by Morrice Village. Clerk was asked to send a letter to the Village explaining our answers. To keep the costs lower we need to be open when the Transfer station is open & have a steering committee to finalize the program. Perry City is in favor of the program and JoAnne O’Berry volunteered to be on the steering committee. Sue Hammond & Kevin Feuka will be township representatives. The Village will also be asked for 2 members. Bob Knowlton had previously volunteered.
The Recreation plan is nearly ready. A letter has been sent to Mich. Laborer’s offering to purchase the former Hickory Lake Campground (31 acres) if a grant is received to help the township. Feuka stated that the recreation plan process be closed. Grant application is due Aug. 1st. P. Michalek moved second by Grinnell to set a public hearing on July 7, 2010 at 7 pm. for public comments on the acceptance of the recreation plan. Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell. Carried. Copies of the plan will be available at the township hall and the Perry Library. P. Michalek moved, second by S. Michalek to have a 2nd public hearing the same night to hear comments in consideration of a resolution for the township to apply for a recreational grant. Ayes: P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond. Carried
Forest Green zoning: The Township has researched the minutes, maps. & records that we had regarding the subdivision and it is now up to the County Zoning & property owners to decide the zoning.
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve spending $18,750 for Bath Rd. improvements and crack/seal 4 roads. Ayes: S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek. Carried
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to accept bid of MB Asphalt for $2,345 to fix the township hall parking lot. Ayes: Parmalee, Grinnell, Hammond, P. & S. Michalek,
The Clerk was authorized to contact a locksmith for door & seal repairs at the hall.
Grinnell has contacted Shave Master to move the Saxton trees for $75 each.
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to join Mich. Association of Cemeteries and send Clerk to conference in June. Cost is $85. All ayes
No drinking water signs should be posted at cemetery & water well land. P. Michalek will check for signs.
The Clerk was asked to purchase a digital camera for the custodian.
