Board present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor; Sandra Michalek, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer, Sue Hammond & Peggy Michalek, Trustees

Guests: Beth Wehman, Independent; John Hall, Chris Thelen, & Rebecca Wildenthal, Consumer’s Energy

The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag.

Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the agenda.  Carried

Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve the Dec. minutes.  Carried

Consumer’s Energy is in the area to remove vegetation & trees along 44 miles of electric lines.  They plan to spend $40 million and remove nearly 6,000 trees statewide.  They cut & leave the wood and will have lots of wood chips.  Residents have received notices.

SSESA: There were 21 calls in Nov. and 218 calls for the whole year.

Sheriff’s Dept. noted there were 168 calls in Perry Twp. during Dec.

DDA is doing a by-laws update.

Zoning: Violation on property on Church Rd.; rezoning of 7 lots in Forest Green.

S. Michalek moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the financial statement & pay the bills.  In question on budget were the Perry School election costs.  Roll call: ayes, Grinnell, Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, & Parmalee.

Correspondence: Detachment letter for Beard Rd. properties; County zoning amendments (campground fencing & signage for home occupations); farmland agreement; DNRE approval of recreation plan (we are still looking for land for a park); Joe Bacigal letter concerning ambulance election; & letter sent to Perry City regarding police protection.

Miss Dig letter: Troy will check more on the sewer thru the Industrial Park.
Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to use the new MTA Workman’s Comp. Plan at a savings of $287.  Ayes: Hammond, P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, & Grinnell.

Parmalee moved, second by S. Michalek to appoint Jeff Michalek, Jim Bashore, & Jack Burnham to the Board of Review for 2-year terms.  Ayes: P. Michalek, S. Michalek, Parmalee, Grinnell,  & Hammond.  Clerk will notify members and administer the oath of office to them.

Recycling:  Hammond reported that there had been a donation from Awesome Women’s Book Club of $30 & a $455 donation from Mark & Kit Uebersax for platform steps at the recycling bins.  Michigan Laborer’s Training Inst. will erect & place the steps at the site.  Bill Morris & Kevin Feuka are working with Morrice & Perry schools for a logo and name for the recycling center.

The Supervisor gave a presentation of Bath Rd.

Permission was given to the local Chamber of Commerce to have the annual dinner at the township hall.

Parmalee moved, second by S. Michalek to adjourn.  Carried
